Guide to traveling to Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark

The Dong Van Karst Plateau is about 140km from the center of Ha Giang city. It is best to travel to Dong Van town first by car or motorbike, which takes about 2.5 – 3 hours. Or, if you want to save energy for the later adventure roads, you can take a bus from Ha Giang city to Dong Van town.

The road from Ha Giang to Dong Van is quite challenging with mountain passes, so make sure you have good driving skills to travel comfortably! It is highly recommended to travel by motorbike because along the way you will pass most of the most beautiful tourist spots in Ha Giang. And remember to fill up the tank because gas stations are very few and hard to find on the way!

The Vuong Family Mansion

The Vuong mansion spans an area of over 1000m², consisting of 10 houses, with 6 of them aligned in the same direction. All the materials used for the houses are ancient precious wood, with roofs covered by tile shingles.

Thang Co: The aroma of cardamom, seeds, and lemongrass combined with the rich taste of meat warms the space amidst the chilly weather. The Mong people often bring men men, buy a bowl of wine and thang co at the market, and enjoy it with friends.

Smoked Buffalo Meat: This specialty dish is often seen in the meals of the Black Thai people. It is usually made from the thighs of free-range buffaloes and cows from the mountainous regions of Northwest Vietnam.

Dong Van Rice Rolls: Egg rice rolls served with a hot, sweet broth are a favorite dish of many visitors. When eating, you just gently pick up the thin rice paper, with the yolk of the egg peeking inside, immerse everything in the bowl of homemade broth, and savor the unique yet delightful taste of this remote land.

Men men: After harvesting, corn is sorted, kept with its husks, and dried in rows in the attic for gradual use. When needed, the corn is shelled and finely ground. The corn flour is steamed in a pot, sprinkled with some water, covered tightly, and then placed on a boiling water pan until the fragrance fills the air, signaling it is done.
